Paul Almy was employed in the maintenance department of Lubrizol Corporation in Painesville, Ohio for 20 years. He retired in 1980. He was a member of the Harpersfield Volunteer Fire Department and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening.
