Leonard B. Almy came to the Sinnett community (Cleveland, OK) in 1900 and resided there the rest of his life. He attended school at Sinnett and was a successful farmer. He served on the local school board for a number of years and took part in all of the community projects, always striving to make a better community in which to live.
In February 1952, Leonard B. Almy made national headlines when he received an inheritance of $100,000 from the estate of Hetty Green, of New York, a distant cousin that he had never met. Hetty's mother and Benjamin's father Frederick were third cousins.
