David went to Spofford in 1802.

He served in the War of 1812 as a private in Captain I. K. Page's Company, 13th U.S. Infantry. He enlisted 5 March 1814 and was discharged 19 Jun 1815. Pension files indicate he was a resident of Richburg, Allegany County, NY, in 1871. His widow was of Genesee (Ceres Post Office), Alleghany County, NY, in 1888.
