Richard Almy was a graduate of the Middlesex School and Harvard University, and received a master's degree in business administration from Northeastern University. After graduating from Harvard, Richard was a member of the Army Counterintelligence Corps in Germany. He then pursued several business ventures in South America. From 1970-95, he continued his professional career in commercial real estate in Connecticut, where he was a Certified Commercial Investment Member. He retired to South Dartmouth, Massachusetts in 1995. Richard was an active sailor and member of the Riverside Yacht Club and New Bedford Yacht Club.
