The following obituary appeared in the local newspapers for Tiverton.

"Philip H. Almy of Tiverton Four Corners died alone Wednesday night or Thursday morning. He had been ill the previous day and Dr. Bryant was called in. He had occupied for several years a small building on the west road leading to Puncatese Neck. He was the son of the late John and Sarah Almy, and was born in Tiverton 59 years ago. He leaves one daughter, who is blind, one sister and three brothers. By occupation he was a fisherman."

In the 1880 Federal census for Tiverton, RI, is Philip H. Almy 27, son, b. RI, peddler of bread; and Harriet A. 18, dau-in-law; living in the household of Philip's father, John Wilcox Almy.
