Roger Almy was employed as a welder for the Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Co. in Providence, RI, for 30 years. After retirement, he lived in Seminole, Florida for 10 years. Roger was a member of the Odd Fellows in Little Compton, RI.

Roger had been in good health and was originally admitted into the hospital for a hip operation, but complications led to more surgery and he ultimately died on April 23, 1986, of infection. Roger had planned and was looking forward on attending the Almy Family Reunion that year and was anxious to have the hip surgery as soon as possible so he would be better able to travel.
