Richard Almy, at the time of his retirement, was general manager of floor products research at the Armstrong Cork Co. Research and Development Center, Lancaster, PA. His association with Armstrong began in 1931 when he joined the staff at the center as a specialist in shoe products. Later he was named chief chemist for industrial products and then manager of industrial products research. He was named general manager of floor products research in 1948. He retired from the firm 1 Sep 1962.
Richard's daughter Jane H. Almy, graduated from Brown University with an A.B. degree in 1957, and an M.B.A. in 1959.
