He m.(1) 1861, ANNIE LOUISE WILCOX, b. Marion, MA, 24 Aug 1844; d. Newport, RI, 10 Sep 1915; dau of Gideon and Louisa (Wing) Wilcox. Annie m.(2) 7 Nov 1877, Jacob Almy (Almy Descendant No. 1408-3832). William C. Almy probably m.(2) Tiverton, 29 Mar 1882, FLORA HENDERSON.

iHERBERT COOK8, b. 21 Mar 1864; d. Tiverton, RI, 15 May 1939; m. FRANCES JACK, b. NY, Sep 1867; d. 1921. In his will made 20 Jan 1938, Herbert named his brother William L. Almy, and his half sisters Susan Wing Hart and Edna Almy Chase.

When Herbert Cook Almy was 17 he joined in the Alaska gold rush. After his wife's death he became a recluse and on December 26, 1937 was arrested for the attempted murder of Herbert Cavaca. Cavaca owed back rent on the dwelling he was renting from Herbert Almy. Herbert got tired of being put off and shot Cavaca five times, none being fatal. Herbert was found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon at his trial in the Superior Court at Newport on October 10, 1938. Herbert Almy died the next Spring.

The William Cook Almy family is found in the 1870 Federal census for Tiverton, RI, in the house of Gideon Wilcox as follows. Annie L. 25, b. MA; Herbert C. 6, b. RI; Willie L. 4, b. RI; and Louisa 8/12, b. RI.

Herbert C. Almy 36, and his wife Frances C. 32, are in the 1900 Federal census for Tiverton, RI.
