Tom Almy received a Bachelor of Science degree (With Distinction) from Cornell University in 1971 and a Master of Science degree from Stanford University in 1973, both in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Tektronix in Beaverton, Oregon, from 1973 to 1998 where he received eight U.S. Patents for his work. At the time of this writing he is employed by Fluence Technology as a Principal Design Engineer.

He has taught adult education classes and college courses in Electrical Engineering since the early 1980's, and since 1990 teaching at Oregon Institute of Technology's Portland campus, where he received a Special Recognition award in 1998 for dedicated service to students. Tom also supervises students with their senior projects.

Tom performed the conversions to make this book "computerized" and maintains his father's Almy Family Newsletter website as well as his own website. In the early 1990's he ran a computer bulletin board system dedicated to the electronic distribution of literature.

Jeremy and Brenda were adopted by Tom and Joan in the Fall 1980.

Christopher graduated from Oregon State University in March 2000 with a BS degree in Computer Science.
