He m. SARAH L. HALE, b. Newbury, MA, 10 Jul 1820; dau of Daniel and Ruth Hale.

According to records of the "Society of California Pioneers" in San Francisco, Moses Brown Almy sailed from New England in the steamer Crescent City on 17 Apr 1849 and arrived in California in June 1849. He joined the Society 2 Feb 1863.

Following is the Moses Brown Almy household in the 1850 Federal census for Foster, RI. They were living in the home of his father-in-law Daniel Hale 56: Moses B. Almy 32, trader; Sarah L. 32; John H. 5; Frank R. 1; and his mother, Abby Almy 50. Moses B. Almy must have been traveling at the time of the 1850 census as he is also found in Sacramento, CA, in that census.
