Marguerite B. Wightman, 86, of Friendship, New York, died April 5, 1996. She was born September 15, 1909 in Wirt, New York, the daughter of La Verne and Jennie (Pierce) Wightman. Miss Wightman was employed by Richburg Central as a fourth-grade teacher for several years. She worked for the Allegheny County Department of Social Services for 10 years and later at the Steuben County Department of Social Services in Bath, retiring in 1975.
Surviving are two brothers, Howard Wightman of Friendship and Edward Wightman of Marietta, Ohio; four sisters, Wayne (Lucile) Baldwin of Friendship, Stanley (Laura) Smith of Orlando, Florida, Morris (Dude) Lyman of Bolivar, New York, and George (Jean) Whitman of Latham, New York.
Elnora G. "Nell" Almy, 72, passed away at her home in N. Kingsville, Ohio, on June 27, 1997. She was born February 15, 1925 in Oberlin, Ohio, the daughter of Rollo and Gertrude (Shepard) Kirk. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
She married Paul Almy February 23, 1944 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They have six children: Paul, Jr. of Paris, France; Andrew of Conneaut, Ohio; Sheryl Kuhn of Pierpont, Ohio; Julia Blattner of Plano, Texas; Elouise John of Geneva, Ohio; and Alice Harrah of North Kingsville.
