Gene and Rosanne Almy Vacation in England

Gene Almy (1407-1C73-41) wrote me on the Internet that "Rosanne and I have just returned from our 3 week Grand Tour of the British Isles.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would recommend it highly to all of our cousins. We toured many of the palaces, castles and cathedrals and drove over many of the rustic back roads of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland (our coach driver was fearless).

"With our family history in mind, I especially enjoyed the visit to Plymouth and my side trip to South Kilworth and Dunton-Bassett. In Plymouth, we inspected the Mayflower steps and took the harbor tour. In South Kilworth and Dunton-Bassett, we spent time in both of these quaint little villages and inspected the church yards to see if we could find any Almey headstones. Unfortunately, all the really old headstones are so badly eroded that they are essentially unreadable.

"The country around these two villages is absolutely beautiful and the villages are in perfect condition and neat as a pin. I have several pictures from each village which I will try to send you later this summer when I get a chance."
