Jutta Engelhardt Almy, 95, of Albuguerque, New Mexico, died 24 May 2005. Jutta was born November 29, 1909, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Frederick and Amanda Engelhardt, who had immigrated from Oberwiederstedt, Germany. Jutta grew up speaking German at home and English in school. After high school, Jutta attended and graduated from the University of Utah in 1932 with a bachelor's degree in German and French.
Jutta was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. In college, she met Adrian Lee Almy who was working on his master's degree in metallurgy. After graduation, she worked as a schoolteacher in the Salt Lake City public schools, teaching sixth grade math and eighth grade history. During this time as a school teacher, she wrote letters to Lee for three years while he worked at mines in New Mexico and Texas.
During the depression they were finally able to get married on Valentine's Day in 1935 in Deming, New Mexico because Lee had been offered a job as a mining engineer for a Bolivian tin and tungsten mine. After getting married, they departed for New York City where they caught an ocean liner for the trip to Peru and from there by train to the high mountains of Bolivia, where they lived at an elevation of 10,000 feet above sea level.
They returned to the United States in 1938, moving to Kingman, Arizona
where Lee worked in a lead and zinc mine, then to Morenci, Arizona where
he worked in a copper mine, and then to Duncan, Arizona where he worked
in a floride mine. In 1940 they moved to Carlsbad where they settled down.

Bradford E. Almy, 72, of Venice, Florida, died April 23, 2005. Bradford was born March 11, 1933, in Tiverton, RI, the son of Herbert M. and Alberta May (Pettey) Almy.
Bradford came to Venice in 1989 from New Bedford, Massachusetts. He retired
as a heavy equipment operator for Charlotte County Environmental Services
and the state of Massachusetts. He was a Marine staff sergeant in the Korean
War.

Howard Earl Almy, 82, of Cobleskill, New York, died April 27, 2005, after a brief illness. Born July 25, 1922, the son of Louise and Wanton Almy, and was a long-time resident of Cobleskill. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Marjorie Graves; five children, Clara and Stephen Jakala of Colonie, Stella and Thomas Brown of Cobleskill, Clinton and his companion of Sloansville, Teresa and her companion Lance of Hinsdale, New Hampshire, and Michael and Barbara Almy of Cobleskill,
Howard retired from Penn-Dixie Cement Company as well as the Blue Circle Atlantic Company. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and horseshoe pitcher. He was a member of the Thursday Afternoon Seniors and Thursday Night Bowling Leagues.
