Following is the continuation from the last Newsletter of the journal of Billings Grinnell Almy. (See introduction in Newsletter No. 85, January 1996.)
Studied German a couple of hours then took an hours walk. Bought some books for JE and had my watch regulated. Looked up residence of Prof. Wundt. When I came back found letter from ACA and Ada. Sent note to JEA enclosing letter from home. In afternoon wrote a letter to Assistants in Dept. of Phil. Univ. of Nebr., and studied German until supper time.
Nicht sehr viel Duetsch heute morgen.* Bought me Wundt"s Human Physiology for one mark. Then "dressed up" and called on the Professor himself. First impression good. Surprised a little at his age. Seemingly very pleasant. Read in the "Brule" until dinner. Spent an hour and a half after reading N.Y. Tribune and then went to work in good earnest on my German. Studied until 10:00 p.m. in good university fashion.
* Transcriber's note: not much German this morning.
