John Cutts Almy had polio as a boy yet ran his own business, a Standard Oil gas and service station, until his late 70's. His wife, Carlotta attended Yale School of Music and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1931. In Daytona Beach she taught piano lessons privately in her home as well as at the local community college.
