David W. Almy, while research editor in 1983 of Business/Commercial Aviation, a national journal published by Ziff-Davis in White Plains, won the Aviation/Space Writers Association's Earl D. Osborn Award for best reporting and writing on general aviation. At age 24, David Almy was the youngest individual winner of the aviation journalism award which was established by the AWA in 1970. The award, named for aviation pioneer Earl Osborn, was for David's three-part article entitled "Justifying Corporate Aircraft."
