I have noted with interest in the recent Mayflower Quarterlies, publication of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, that Dorothy Hornus, an Almy descendant, is now Chairman of Public Relations for the General Society.
I started corresponding with Dorothy back in 1983 when she and her husband were in Nuremberg, Germany (He worked for the Armed Forces Exchange Service.), and we exchanged information on our respective Almy ancestral lines. We knew of each other because of my contacts with her relatives back in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She and her husband attended the 1984 Almy Family Reunion in Seekonk, Massachusetts.
When she and her husband returned to the United States, they lived in Florida where she was active in the Florida Mayflower Society. I was Editor of the Oregon Society of Mayflower Descendants news publication and in that capacity received exchange copies of other state's publications. So I was able to read about Dorothy's Mayflower activities in Florida.
