I have been informed that Dean died March 1, 2006 in Rhode Island at age 46. After his parents' John and Marion's death, Dean lived with a foster family in Rhode Island. He had health problems all his life but he died of pneumonia.
Dean, who was born April 1, 1958 in Woonsocket, RI, got his middle name of Almy from his grandmother Hazel Almy, my Dad's sister.
Dean's sister, Donna, asked Charles Stopford (1408-3312-1313) to let me know of this death in the Almy Family.
Loretta H. Almy of Weeki Wachee, Florida, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away May 9, 2006, age 81. She was the daughter of John and Mary (Prudiniak) Hostman, born November 17, 1924 in Wyandotte, Michigan. She married Clifford J. Almy, December 29, 1948. He had passed away on November 8, 2001. Survived are four daughters: Nancy Marie, Susan Mary, Fay Ann, and Mary Margaret.
Betsy's daughter sent me an e-mail informing me that her mother died on March 21, 2006 at the age of 93.
Florence Elizabeth Littlehales was born in Syracuse August 21, 1912, the daughter of Florence Elizabeth Almy and Cecil Walter Littlehales. She married 1st, Lindley C. Kent and 2nd Josiah Borden Miller. She had two children from her 1st marriage: Susan, born 1938, and Robert, born 1942.
Esther Almy Sheldon, 95, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, died March 23, 2006. She was born December 28, 1910 in Simmonsville, Rhode Island, daughter of Benjamin F. and Mary Emily (Cutts) Almy. She married 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island, Evan Sheldon. They had no children.
Richard R. Almy, Jr. (1233-5143-2421) sent me notice of Esther's death by a copy of an E-mail he received from his sister Hale.
Dorothy Hornus (1407-1C57-61) sent me an E-mail stating that she had received an e-mail from Lucinda Peckham (1408-3832-43) that Charles Almy (1407-1532-2) had died. No date was given, but reference was given to death notices of 22 March 2006 in the Herald News.
Charles Bourne Almy was born June 7, 1909 in East Providence, RI, the son of Phillip W. Almy, Jr. and Grace Ella Bourne. He married in Hartford, CT, 26 August 1931, Marion Esther Williams, born in Fall River, MA, on 15 April 1906. They had two children: 1. Marcia Louise who married Charles C. Pratt and 2. Charles Bourne Almy, Jr. who married Virginia Aiello.
