She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1905 and received a degree in social work from Simmons College in 1927. She was instrumental in establishing a social work section in the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the first such section to be established in the country.

Charles Almy received his A.B. degree from Harvard in 1872, his L.L.B. in 1876. He was a lawyer in Boston, an East Cambridge District Court Judge, and at one time was an Assistant United States Attorney in Boston.
